2010 Schedule: Click Here or Scroll Down

Started in July '04, the Sunapee Community Coffeehouse's mission is to encourage & foster professional and amateurs musicians alike in a family style listening room environment where new and seasoned performers can offer up their songs and stories to an attentive audience.
Original songs encouraged but not required.

Location:
Downstairs at the Sunapee Methodist Church
, 17 Lower Main Street in Sunapee, NH
(603) 763-3241 church - (603) 763-4301 (after 6pm) need directions: click here
The formula for our successful concert series:
1) Volunteers to sustain the series
2) Passing the hat for the musician, and
3) Fostering an attentive respectful audience in a family atmosphere which in turn guarantees the musicians will want to return.

THANKS TO OUR 2010 SPONSORS
Friends of the Sunapee Community Coffeehouse who would like to sponsor the music/room rental for a night are greatly appreciated.

Folk music from the hills of Maine. Toe tappin', mind wrattlin' music from the mason jar that will make you think. From heartfelt lyrics, and soft melodies, to cleverly put humor, and rag-time guitar pickin', will not leave you disapointed.

Rossoni's music is cross-generational, original, acoustic rock n' roll-or in today's terms, Americana-ish. Her music is very upbeat and inspirational-but she's known to throw a few hard-luck, gut-wrenching tunes into her sets for the weepy, pensive types. After all, her life isn't perfect either :)

John's music: It isn't really folk. It isn't really rock, It isn't really bluegrass or pop, though all those elements are there. His songs are direct & honest.

CoffeeHouse and Community Announcements

CoffeeHouse Announcements

Thanks to the Organizers, Volunteers, EmCees, Sponsors and Musicians
who made the 2009/10 CoffeeHouse season a rousing success.

Thanks to Peter Merrigan for a great season send- off, of heartfelt originals and well-chosen covers. See a video clip here.

We had a great pot-luck before the show. It was a fun way to wrap up the season. There was a good crowd and some great food.

If you'd like to perform next winter, keep us in mind. We're getting quite a reputation for the listening room style venue.
Always looking for young people, in the community, who'd like to play an evening, Please join us!
Image: Will Bartlett, former Open Mic performer, at our Potuck tonight.

Thinking of starting a local live music CoffeeHouse style venue in the area?
There has been quite a bit of interest and activity with folks starting similar venues as ours in the Lake Sunapee Region. We support more live music in the area, and at the same time, encourage people to get involved with the original...us!
A similar trend took place a few years after the Leavenworth Community CoffeeHouse (our sister coffeehouse) took off 15+ years ago. About six or more coffeehouse style venues popped up in the central Washington area. While it was nice to see more venues, the Leavenworth CoffeeHouse had no real increase in volunteerism, and the audience market became somewhat oversaturated with coffeeHouse style venues.

We put the word "Community" in the name because it's our hope local musicians and community members will consider giving back to the Lake Sunapee area music community by getting involved in this venue. We would love to have more volunteer interest to keep the venue invigerated. Also you can have a say in how things go if you get involved! - - Just a thought, and a plug for the SCC!

Volunteers needed:
Want to help out? Check out our volunteer page for some fun opportunities to get involved.
