DANA & SUSAN ROBINSON With nine albums and a million miles of touring under their wheels Dana and Susan perform with depth and soulful passion. Dana and Susan Robinson’s sound is a melting pot of Appalachian, British, and rural American influences, full of earthy grooves, elegant melodies, stories of heroes, ne’er do-well’s, and cautionary tales. Alternating between guitar, fiddle, banjo, and mandolin, their performance is a seamless journey of songs, tunes, stories, and laughter. "Exquisite music - physical and spiritual, contemporary and ancient, up to its eyeballs in mud and transcendence. Musicians like Dana Robinson don't grow on trees!" — Music Upstream “Rural America explored with elegant simplicity. Their music and cleanly poetic songwriting bring to mind the great folksingers of our times.”- Asheville Citizen-Times |

Cosy Sheridan's satirical viewpoints on
everyday life have earned her a place in the hearts of fans
across the country. Her concerts are wide-ranging
explorations of modern mythology (meet Hades the Biker),
love songs for adults, contemporary philosophy for the
thoughtfully-minded and her signature parody on aging and
women. A former NH native, she first caught the attention of
national folk audiences in 1992 when she won the songwriting

Gail Finnie Gail Finnie (aka Gail Rundlett) has been a mainstay of the folk scene in the Boston area since the mid-80's. She is known for her beautiful vocals, as well as being an innovator on the Appalachian dulcimer. While best known for her creative versions of traditional and folk standards, Gail has been performing many of her own songs in the last few years. She is the founding member of the successful four-woman a cappella group "Taproot". Cooper & Kenneally Rick Cooper and Pat Kenneally deliver an entertaining mix of early rock and roll and ‘The Good' country (Chet Atkins/Johnny Cash) that we all know and love, along with some folk-pop which is a totally different beast. The vocal harmonies, blend of guitar/ukulele, and tune selection is great and a lot of fun to listen to. Wonderfully talented musicians who understand what entertaining a crowd is all about. Seriously wicked cool infectious camaraderie and good humor. In a word, FUN. |

John Flynn
In an era of deep division, John Flynn's songs call us
together as they speak for the wounded, the weary, and the
afflicted; for the prisoner, the soldier, and all the
forgotten ones who walk unseen in our midst. Fusing the
vision of an activist with the unblinking eye of a
truth-teller, John Flynn's music speaks deeply to the heart
and the spirit. A wordsmith and poet of rare clarity, John
evokes our shared humanity as he addresses the times we live
in. From barbed political verse to joyous fun-loving lyrics
for kids, John paints vivid, lasting images with words and
music drawn from a palate of awareness, irony, humor, and
compassion. John was recently honored for his contribution
of a song included in the compilation CD, “All About
Bullies, Big and Small,” which won the Grammy as Best
Children's Album of 2012. |

The Joshua Incident performs original songs in an alt-country vein bound to the rich traditions of country, folk, and cosmic American music. Pedal steel guitarist Dan Beller-McKenna and singer Ann Norton met by chance on Facebook when they both waxed eloquent over Richard Thompson's “1952 Vincent Black Lightning” on a mutual friend's post. Discovering that Norton shared his passion for the music of Gram Parsons, Beller-McKenna and singer/guitarist Todd Thurlow invited Norton and bassist John “Hal” Halstead to join them in a Parsons jam one hot July afternoon. Tight harmonies meshed seamlessly with a lean but lyrical acoustic backdrop, and The Joshua Incident was born. The band offers unique sound and spirit born from this rare mix of steel, guitar, bass, and vocals.

Chris LaVancher
2014 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist –
Chris LaVancher spins tales from such a genuine, heart-felt
place you can't help but believe his stories and love the
broken characters that inhabit them. Chris grew up in the
hills of North Central Pennsylvania where he learned to
observe the many wonderful characters that inhabited that
little town. It was, and still is, quite a special hidden
gem of place filled with a surprising number of artists,
musicians, creative types and downright interesting people.
Today he lives just north of Boston Massachusetts, a Mecca
of sorts for folk singers and songwriters, but much of his
inspiration still goes back to that little town in
Pennsylvania. |

Tom Pirozzoli & Gerry Putnam have released their 2nd CD entitled "Sanctuary". A CD release party at the Sunapee Coffeehouse will include giveaways and specials for patrons, and a performance of many of the songs form the new CD. An all instrumental CD featuring Gerry on nylon string lead guitar and Tom on steel string. This CD includes 13 original compositions by Tom, and two classical pieces. It features a variety of musical forms, from a medley of Vivaldi and Dvorjak to jazzy upbeat to a cowboy song to a jig. Kathy Lowe wrote this about it: Firstly, the melodic interchange between said players is exquisite and unique. One can surmise, just through the first listen, that there is a marriage of minds, muscles, and mastery. Overtones continuously rising to depths beyond normal auditory experience, transport one's awareness to sympathetic strings of delight and tranquility. The rhythmic balance between nylon and steel seem to concerto into one sound which penetrates the heart into a beating never felt before. The new melodies are striking in that, they sound as if they were born into space for a solid purpose of manifesting joy to the soul.
...And I will say this: I REALLY LOVE IT!!! especially #7,
the cowboy song...... |

Danielle Miraglia A blistering version of “Stagger Lee” occurs seven tracks deep into Danielle Miraglia's most recent album, Box of Troubles. The notes come fast and hard. The thumb pick on the bass strings is like a jackhammer, insistent in its driving urgency. The tempo is faster than I've ever heard it before, but it seems right. Her voice is strong and expressive with a whiskey-stained authority, peppered occasionally with a raspy growl, as she sings: Police officer, how can it be / You can arrest everybody but cruel old Stagger Lee? That bad man, cruel Stagger Lee … Her slide guitar sets up an ominous drone.... And if you think that's good you gotta hear the rest of what she plays. |

Buskin & Batteau have been winning hearts and minds with their soulful acoustic balladry and fun-filled performances for more years than they care to remember. "We're not from the Cambridge, came-over-on-the-Mayflower first wave of folkies [ Joan Baez, Tom Rush, Eric Von Schmidt ]," says Buskin, "but we'd like to think we've stolen many of their licks." The Washington Post called their work "an irresistible amalgam of melodic, sensual pop, folkie grit and killer wit.” Buskin & Batteau let the poet drive their songs forward with an unstoppable beat and untamed fiddle solo.

Eugene Durkee began in various 80's pop bands, but now plays in the traditional Irish music scene. Strangely enough, He's also recorded music with a really fantastic famous jazz drummer and with the keyboardist for the Strawbs and Renaissance. More recently, he's touring the American South and Midwest with the brilliant uilleann piper, Paddy Keenan. Along with traditional Irish music, he plays American bottleneck/slide and fingerpicking, and original songs which are, he says, "good with cold beer, good whiskey and octopus stew." |

"Phil Hare who hails from the United Kingdom will be making his inaugural tour of the US and the Sunapee Coffee House is his first stop." ''Phil Hare hails from the UK and is widely regarded as one of the finest and most distinctive guitarists on the UK acoustic/folk music circuit. Phil became a solo performer towards the end of the 1980's, taking to the road with powerful self-written songs which often reflect his own social/political views. He presents them in a humorous and chorus-based style so as not to appear 'tub-thumping'. Phil is an accomplished performer and mixes his virtuosity on the guitar with the songs that highlight his rich and husky voice. This is Phil's first visit to the USA and hopes many more will follow.'' |

Howard's blues style is drawn from the tradition of Huddie Ledbetter (Leadbelly) and Blind Willy McTell, incorporating a powerful bass line along with flashy finger-picking, His guitar style and poignant vocals can carry the listener into the world of rowdy barrelhouses or into the field at the end of a long day of weeding crops
Poor Howard's 12-string guitar has the solid, propulsive
groove of a steady-moving freight train; and he has the
uncanny way of singing classic blues tunes as if their
hard-luck stories were happening today. |
